MICROCEMENT BATHROOM RENOVATION WITH WALK IN SHOWER
FULL BATHROOM RENOVATION AND SURFACE REFINISH
This project involved a complete bathroom renovation centered around a seamless microcement finish applied to all walls and ceilings, paired with a custom walk in shower, new vanity, and a wall mounted toilet system. The goal was to create a clean, modern space with minimal visual breaks while upgrading the underlying plumbing and infrastructure to support long term performance.

VISION
Minimal on the surface, highly technical underneath. Every detail was built to disappear visually and perform flawlessly.
This bathroom was designed to feel calm, continuous, and architectural. The kind of space where nothing competes for attention and everything feels intentional.
The defining feature of this project is the microcement finish applied throughout the bathroom, including all walls and ceilings. Microcement is not a paint or a coating. It’s a multi layer cement based system that is hand applied and built up over time. Each surface was properly prepped, reinforced, and leveled before the microcement was installed in multiple passes. Once cured, the surface was sealed to create a durable, water resistant finish with a soft, natural texture. The result is a seamless look with no grout lines, no visual interruptions, and a finish that feels both modern and timeless.
Carrying the microcement onto the ceiling was a deliberate choice. It creates continuity and gives the room a sculpted, monolithic feel, something you can’t achieve with traditional materials. It also requires careful sequencing and protection, since every layer must be applied cleanly and evenly overhead without compromising the final finish.
The walk in shower was fully rebuilt with proper waterproofing, slope, and drainage before receiving the same microcement finish. The shower was designed to feel open and integrated into the room rather than a separate enclosure. Built in shelving was incorporated to maintain clean lines while still providing everyday functionality.
A new vanity was installed to anchor the space and introduce warmth against the cement tones. Clean profiles and minimal hardware keep the focus on proportion and balance rather than ornamentation.
One of the more technical components of this project was the installation of a wall mounted toilet. Unlike a standard floor mounted unit, a wall hung toilet requires in wall carrier framing, reinforced blocking, and precise plumbing rough in before walls are closed. Waste lines and supply lines were relocated and concealed within the wall cavity, allowing the toilet to float off the floor. This not only improves the visual cleanliness of the room, but also makes maintenance and cleaning easier long term.
Every detail of this bathroom was approached as a system. Surfaces, plumbing, waterproofing, and finishes all working together rather than competing with each other. The end result is a bathroom that feels quiet, refined, and intentional. A space designed to be lived in daily without visual clutter, where craftsmanship is felt even when it’s not immediately seen.
